International foreign-currency transfers generally take 1–3 banking days, depending on the number of banks involved in processing the transfer.
Incoming transfers are credited to customers’ accounts free of charge.
If a payment order cannot be executed successfully for reasons beyond the Bank’s control, the commission paid is non-refundable.
When processing international foreign-currency transfers, the Bank may independently select the transfer route and intermediary bank, based on the banking information available to the Bank, without obtaining the customer’s prior consent.
If the recipient (beneficiary) of a transfer cannot be identified, the correspondent bank returns the funds to the bank that initiated the transfer. The timeframes and conditions for returning funds depend on the internal procedures of the correspondent banks and the number of banks involved in processing the transfer. The Bank credits the returned funds to the bank account of the person who initiated the transfer. If the transfer was made without opening a bank account, the funds are returned to the person who initiated the transfer based on the passport details specified in the payment order.
If a transfer is returned because of incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer (for example, inaccurate bank details or a closed account), any expenses incurred by the banks involved in processing the transfer are borne by the customer.
Since January 1, 2019, transfers to the United Arab Emirates must include a three-digit Transfer Purpose Code, depending on the purpose of the transfer. If this code is missing, the beneficiary bank may reject the transfer or charge additional fees.
The Bank reserves the right not to execute an electronic payment order submitted by a customer if it is incomplete or improperly completed. All resulting expenses are borne by the customer.
If the Bank considers a transaction suspicious in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, it has the right to suspend or refuse to execute it, including refusing to establish a business relationship with the customer.
The Bank and/or correspondent or intermediary banks may reject, suspend, or freeze a transaction and request additional information about the parties to the transfer or its purpose in accordance with their internal regulations and applicable international and domestic legislation. The Bank bears no responsibility for such actions. All resulting expenses are borne by the customer.
If the customer requests clarification from a correspondent bank regarding transfer details, the customer is charged an amount in AMD equivalent to the commission charged by the correspondent bank.
Where necessary, Acba bank offers the Guaranteed OUR service for transfers in USD. To prevent intermediary banks from making additional deductions from the transferred amount, an additional fee of AMD 10,000 per transfer is charged on top of the applicable commission.
When foreign currency is converted into AMD and then received, Acba bank customers are not charged a cash withdrawal fee. If a customer receives a transfer credited non-cash in foreign currency and then withdraws the transferred amount in cash, a cash withdrawal fee applies.
The Bank must provide a document confirming each transfer, specifying the transfer amount, currency, commission paid, and other details.
If the beneficiary’s account details have been received only by email, customers are advised to contact the beneficiary through another communication channel to verify the account details and avoid fraud (see Security Rules).
