A unique tomato greenhouse complex in the region, equipped with artificial intelligence, robotics, and the latest solutions, has been officially opened in the village of Nor Yedesia in Aragatsotn province.
The “smart” system installed in the greenhouse complex scans the entire greenhouse, collecting and analyzing all data on the quantity and ripeness of tomatoes, the condition of the plants, and even the presence of harmful insects.
In this ultra-modern greenhouse, tomatoes are grown in a clean environment made of coconut fiber; all the necessary nutrients are supplied to the plants through a drip irrigation system.
The greenhouse currently produces around 18-20 tons of tomatoes per day, which are exported daily to various countries around the world, including Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, and others. Production is expected to reach around 40 tons per day in the near future.
“There were many questions during the financing of this project, but trust played a major role, and we confidently moved forward with financing the project. The project that is now complete and that we can see today was initially just an idea written on paper. Now we have every reason to be proud that we financed such a great project. In these difficult times, we must not lose our optimism, move forward, and view every crisis as a new opportunity,” noted Hakob Andreasyan, Chief Executive Officer of Acba bank.
“In this greenhouse, operations are managed by artificial intelligence. We also have a monitoring robot that scans the entire greenhouse and the plants. At the moment, we can know how many kilograms of tomatoes we have, their level of ripeness, whether there are any diseased plants, and the robot even helps us identify what types of insects are present here. Acba bank and Acba Leasing have played a very significant role in the overall development of our business. Our greenhouse was fully financed through Acba bank, while in cooperation with Acba Leasing, we equipped the greenhouse complex with various types of machinery,” says Hayk Hunanyan, Founder and Director of Agro Prom.
Construction of a new greenhouse complex has already begun next to the existing greenhouse, again on a 10-hectare site. A production facility is also planned, where the necessary packaging will be produced.
